SASA East District Regional Talented Swimmers Programme

At the end of last year a number of Midlothian swimmers were selected to attend Scottish swimming training days, as part of Sasa East District Regional talented swimmers programme. Due to their recent performances, two club swimmers, Jamie Ferguson and Eilidh Redpath have been invited to attend a further intensive day of swim training at the National swimming academy in Stirling. Jamie has been asked to attend National Stroke Camp Backstroke with coach John Szaranek, and Eilidh National Stroke Camp Butterfly with Gordon Glasgow, both swimmers are over the moon to be selected and head coach Colin Barton says “it is a great reflection of the pool of talent that we have here at Midlothian swimming club.”

The Camps took place on 25-26 April 2015 and brought together some of the fastest young swimmers from across Scotland. It provided an opportunity for swimmers of different ages and their coaches to work together, to gain vital technical information, analysis and feedback to help develop these swimmers into swimming stars of the future.
