This is the 1st round of the Leagues for 2009 and although we did not have full teams for all ages the swimmers swam extremely well with many P.B.’s on the day. There were 27 PB’s with 2 swims just outside the swimmers times, 5 swims the first competition over the distance, and 1 swim too fast
The morning session kicked off with the younger swimmers 8/9yrs with Morgan Cockburn swimming her first 50m back, and Megan Bain just a margin outside her PB. Anna MacKay producing a 5 second PB on Breast, Bryony Eunson 11 seconds PB on Front crawl, Logan 1 second on Fly, Ian Doyle his first 50m Back, Andrew Denholm producing a 9 second PB on Breast and Leon Wadee 7½ seconds on Front Crawl.
The 10/11 years continued producing PBs. Beth Denholm -4 seconds and Jenna Walker -2 seconds on 200m Front Crawl;
Sarah Sommerville 1 second and Hebe Ramsay-13½ seconds off 100m I.M. ;
Kimberley MacKay-½ second and Lauren Sutherland 11 seconds off 50m Fly;
Beth Denholm- 3 seconds and Caitlin Wright 6 seconds off 50m Back Stroke;
Any Sylvester 1½ seconds and Vaila Robertson 4 seconds off 50m Breast Stroke.
Ross Muego, his first attempt at competition and swimming 200m front Crawl time 3.40.13 and 50m Breast 1.07.75. Great swims.
Nathan Avinou again the first time 100m I.M. unfortunately Nathan was D.Q. however it was a great swim as he produced a time off 1.32.2. Nathan also swam 50m Fly producing a P.B. of 13 seconds.
Cameron Tervet- 4 second PB on 50m Back Stroke.
The afternoon session continue with a few feeling a bit nervous and most swimmers clocking up massive PB’s
The 12/13 years Ellie Brown although feeling a bit weary as she had sat through the morning session and despite telling me she cant swim the distance swims proved she can do it and went into the 200m Front crawl producing a P.B. of 14 seconds. Later in the day swimming the 100m Breast Stroke and again producing a 4 second P.B.
Erin Murray again a massive PB on the 200m IN with a 19 second PB.
Sarah Eunson again had a great swim on the 100m Fly especially as she had just arrived after a few hours dancing practice had produced a 19 second PB unfortunately on the last length she was DQ but a great swim and a lot of determination to keep improving her fly.
Fiona Rhodes stepping in at the last minute and before setting off on her holidays swimming the 100m Back and producing a 3½ second PB.
Fraser Bissett swimming the 200n Front Crawl again a massive PB of 24 seconds. And just outside his PB on the 100m Fly.
Jack Dryden keeping up the pace with a 3 second PB on the 200m IN and a 2 second PB on the 100m Breast.
The 14years and Over with the only swimmer due to the two top squads at Forres.
Neil Gibson did not let us down he swam that well that he broke the time band for the very first time by 100 of a second(2.19.99)also producing a 5½ second PB on the 200m Front Crawl followed by a 3 second PB on the 100n Back.
This was a great success for the first round and a great achievement for all swimmers. Well Done to everyone that took part.
